Xiaomi to sell its devices on Snapdeal and Amazon as well

Xiaomi is looking to expand its presence on the web as it partners with e-commerce sites Snapdeal and Amazon. Xiaomi already has partnership with Flipkart. The latest partnership is likely to give Xiaomi a comprehensive presence on the web.

Xiaomi will be creating Mi Stores on Snapdeal and Amazon, where customers can choose from a range of Mi phones and accessories. The Mi stores go live today, while the sale starts on April 8, 12 noon.

Manu Jain, Head of India Operations, Mi India, said: “We are glad to give Mi fans more options to purchase Mi products. We are truly excited to be working with a variety of partners and expect these partnerships to be super successful.”

Tony Navin, Senior Vice President, Electronics and Home, Snapdeal.com said: “We are excited to partner with Xiaomi to launch its highly sought-after range of smartphones and accessories to our customers across the country. We believe that the extensive delivery network panning across Tier 2 & 3 cities and towns of India will be of great value to Xiaomi in reaching out to a segment of consumers seeking true value in their devices.”

The latest tie ups come as the company celebrates its 5th anniversary on April 8. The company has announced a slew of offers for Mi fans via a Mi Fan Festival. Offers include:

Hugo Barra, Vice President, Xiaomi Global, said: “Mi Fan Festival is a huge online party that we throw every year to bring Mi fans together all around the world for a day of non-stop celebration — it's our way of thanking our fans for their huge support. We're super thrilled to have Mi India joining the party this year and look forward to spending many more birthdays together!"
Moreover, Mi products are also available in offline retail channels through Airtel and The Mobile Store.
The latest announcements seem to be Xiaomi's aggressive plans to dominate the Indian market. The company has already said multiple times that India is among important markets, and will be exploring more options to expand its base. The company started with an online-only model, but now it has tied up with Airtel and The Mobile Store for offline presence. It is also planning to manufacture phones in India to comply with the Make in India initiative
