It’s already known that Apple has crafted special retail programs for the Watch, try-on sessions, additional perks for buyers of the Watch Edition and so on. Now, the company has also announced special discounts for its employee in a memo sent by Tim Cook to all employees, reports 9T05Mac.
All Apple employees, including retail workers, are now offered 50 percent discount on either the aluminum sport version or the stainless steel variant of the Apple Watch. They will also get $550 off on 18kt gold Edition variants. This discount will be available for 90 days, starting April 10.
“I know that many of you have been looking forward to choosing an Apple Watch for yourselves, and we want to make it easy for you. Starting Friday, in countries where the watch is available for pre-order, a special Employee Purchase Plan will offer a 50% discount on any Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport for your personal use,” Cook wrote in the memo.
As Apple introduces the Watch in more countries, the special discount will be offered to employees there as well. Discounts will begin as soon as the Watch is available for pre-order and last for 90 days after availability.
The memo also congratulates Apple employees for the hard work they’ve put in to bring this new product category to stores. As a part of the memo, more than 1000 apps were submitted in just four days as soon as the App Store started accepting them. The rate of submissions has only been climbing since then, he added.
Apple Watch will be available for pre-order starting April 10, and hit stores on April 24.
